St Anstrudis died in 688. She was a benedictine abbess that fought against the mayor of the royal palace, a petty powerful politician who delighted in making her life difficult. Finally her harrassment was put to an end when Blessed Pepin of Landen stepped into the dispute, which began when St Anstrudis opposed the politician at the murder of her brother. Her feast day is October 17th.
